    Many of us have done it, have seen other people do it, or will do it ourselves in the near future. No, I’m not talking about people texting while driving, texting while eating, or even texting while biking (yes, I have seen people do all three). I’m talking about people texting while walking.

    I like to call these people text zombies. I use the zombie analogy because if you ever walk behind someone who’s texting, you’ll notice that they walk in a straight line, even if there’s an obstruction right in front of them—strangely akin to the flesh eating zombies in the movies whose zombiness seems to somehow hamper their sense of navigation and general motor skills (perhaps it’s the fact their brains have decayed since they’ve been dead so long?).     Texting while driving. I’ve blogged about it numerous times. We all know it’s wrong, and we all know about the law in BC that forbids us from doing it. Yet, I keep seeing it happen! Have you ever passed a car and seen the driver texting? What do you do? Since I started writing for this blog, I’ve discovered how dangerous it can really be. I now try to catch the eye of the person texting behind the wheel (if I’m not behind the wheel myself) and mime to the driver that texting (left hand to my head mimicking a phone) while driving (right hand miming me driving) is wrong (right hand now shaking violently at the culprit).
