    The City of Vancouver, Translink, and the Vancouver Business Association started a 3D image campaign earlier this month to remind pedestrians that Granville Street has reopened to bus traffic. This campaign is reminiscent of a campaign we created this fall to alert drivers to the higher numbers of kids on the streets with school back in session. I’m not saying the City of Vancouver copied us, but I think we started a 3D decal trend that is part of a larger movement to raise awareness about preventable pedestrian injuries in British Columbia.     Vacouver cyclist

    It’s being called the first of its kind in Vancouver. An extremely unfortunate incident between a cyclist and an 80-year-oldish pedestrian who later died of his injuries. It happened last week. And this week, cycling advocates in the city are calling on other cyclists to slow down, be more visible, and give pedestrians the right of way.     Preventable 3D Image

    We’re doing something completely different compared to our campaign last year to raise awareness about more kids being on the roads this first week back at school. In fact, our latest campaign is a Canadian first.

    Preventable, BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation, and the District of West Vancouver have launched a 3D illusion geared to make drivers slow down at high-risk intersections. Continue Reading…
