    Have You Walked On These?

    In case you haven’t noticed, our latest campaign is about avoiding harmful falls. We’ve spelled it out in black and white and yellow for you. We’ve even gone so far as to put it on the ground Vancouverites walk on before they catch the Skytrain (see picture above) and on a downtown billboard you can see while you rush (but hopefully not too fast) down the street in your car or on your bike. Yup, you can’t say we haven’t tried to spread the message that serious falls are avoidable. But who am I to tell ya about these dangers, you might ask? Good question. I’ve only suffered bruises and embarrassment due to a fall (it involved running for a phone call from the shower while I was wearing a towel and my feet were wet… that’s all I chose to divulge). So don’t take my word for it, take the words of one of the 700 British Columbians who seriously injure themselves due to falls every year: like Brenda. Continue Reading…

    Football

    The sun is here. Well, at least it was the afternoon I wrote this. Watching the World Cup in sun-drenched South Africa makes it certainly feel like it should be summer in BC. Whenever I see those golden rays, I want to run like a gazelle outside and do pretty much anything active I can. And being an immature guy in some respect, I feel I can relate to many people half my age who are thinking the same thing. Continue Reading…
