Driving while on the phone couldn't possibly hurt anyone

A preventable car crash happens every few minutes in BC.

We talk on cell phones. We speed. We get distracted. Sometimes we even just drive a few “short” blocks after having a drink or two. Yet, underneath it all, there’s usually one cause of preventable injuries and death on the road and off. It’s our mindset. We think nothing will happen. Often nothing does. So every day, several times a day, we do things without thinking. By thinking carefully about safety, we can change our behaviour and stop injuries from happening to ourselves and to others.

Helpful Resources

Car crashes don’t just involve other people. They can happen to you too. When driving, keep your mind on the road and on what you’re doing. Don’t think of the call you want to make or the time you want to save, think of the consequences instead.
