Helmets at MEC

    If you’ve ever visited this website, you’ll know that bike helmets are a recurring subject of discussion. One of my first blog entries was about who does and who doesn’t wear a brain bucket, and I’ve written more than a few since.     Girls in a Playground
    My friends M & T have a couple of fantastic little girls. They’re twins, but not the identical kind (I think they call that fraternal). M is a nurse, which means if one of the little tikes injures themselves, she’s on call. It also means she’s exposed to a whole gamut of nasty injuries. As M explained to me,

    “Being a neurological ward nurse, I see young kids come in all the time with head injuries.”

    Pills

    A friend of mine recently mentioned that he didn’t feel so hot after taking over-the-counter headache pain relieving pills. He said the usual over the counter headache pills usually works for him, but this time the headache didn’t go away, and he felt “generally crappy.” It turns out he also had a cold and was taking medication for that at the same time.

    When he told me he had been taking two sets of pills, he uttered, “You know, I really have no idea if I’m supposed to use Tylenol 3s with my medication.” Continue Reading…
